Η Πρόεδρος των Σκοπίων Γκορντάνα Σιλιάνοφσκα μίλησε σε Συνέδριο με γενικό τίτλο «Μακεδονία 2025», χρησιμοποιώντας τον όρο αυτό όπως και η μεγάλη πλειοψηφία πολιτικών και δημοσιογράφων.
Εξ άλλου ο Πρωθυπουργός του κράτους Χρίστιαν Μίτσκοσκι επαναλαμβάνει συχνά τους ισχυρισμούς του περί «ανεπίλυτου μακεδονικού ζητήματος». Τον ακούσαμε τον Ιανουάριο στις ΗΠΑ (συγκέντρωση στο Νιου Τζέρσεϋ), τον ακούσαμε πάλι στις 24 Απριλίου σε συγκέντρωση σωματείου που διεκδικεί τη Βόρειο Ελλάδα. Από το 1945 ο κομμουνιστής Τίτο της Γιουγκοσλαβίας είχε καθιερώσει τον αλυτρωτικό όρο «Μακεδονία του Αιγαίου» ή «Μακεδονία της Λευκής Θάλασσας» για την Ελληνική Μακεδονία. Οι σύλλογοι με αυτές τις ονομασίες αποτελούν σήμερα την αιχμή του δόρατος της ανθελληνικής και διεκδικητικής προπαγάνδας.
Είπε μεταξύ άλλων ο Μίτσκοσκι: «Το μακεδονικό ζήτημα δεν έχει κλείσει. Το μακεδονικό ζήτημα θα τεθεί κάποια στιγμή στο τραπέζι των παγκόσμιων μεγάλων δυνάμεων και εγώ είμαι πεπεισμένος ότι με τη δύναμη των επιχειρημάτων θα αποκαταστήσουμε όλα εκείνα που όχι μόνον τα τελευταία χρόνια, αλλά ίσως και τις προηγούμενες δεκαετίες και αιώνες στο παρελθόν έχουμε απωλέσει. Δεν είμαι βέβαιος ότι είμαστε η γενιά αυτή, της οποίας ηγούμαι, που θα το καταφέρει αυτό, αλλά είμαι βέβαιος ότι θα θέσουμε τα θεμέλια, ώστε οι επόμενες γενιές να μπορέσουν, βάσει των θεμελίων που θέτουμε σήμερα, να το καταφέρουν αυτό». Μιλούσε σε εκδήλωση στα Σκόπια για τη συμπλήρωση ενός έτους λειτουργίας της «Λέσχης-Αναγνωστηρίου της Λευκής Θάλασσας».
Είναι προφανές ότι οι δηλώσεις αυτές και η γενικότερη συμπεριφορά των ηγετικών κλιμακίων των Σκοπίων κουρελιάζουν τη Συμφωνία των Πρεσπών. Δικαιώνουν επίσης όλους όσοι φωνάζαμε ότι η σύνθετη ονομασία είναι κοροϊδία, διότι θα μείνει μόνο ο όρος «Μακεδονία». Πρέπει να δείξουμε άμεση αντίδραση. Αν αποδεχόμαστε αδιαμαρτύρητα αυτές τις προκλήσεις ανοίγουμε την όρεξη για γειτονικά κράτη μεγαλύτερα σε πληθυσμό και ισχύ από τα Σκόπια.
Η θρασύτητα των βορείων γειτόνων εκδηλώνεται και απέναντι στη Βουλγαρία και στην Ε.Ε. Η Σόφια έθεσε Βέτο για την ευρωπαϊκή πορεία των Σκοπίων, αν δεν κάνουν μία δήλωση για τη γλώσσα τους και αν δεν αναγνωρίσουν τη βουλγαρική εθνότητα ως συστατικό στοιχείο του κράτους με τροποποίηση του κανονιστικού μέρους του Συντάγματος.
Για τη γλώσσα η κυβέρνηση των Σκοπίων κατέθεσε στις Βρυξέλλες μία δήλωση, στις 19.7.2022, αναγνωρίζοντας ότι κατασκευάσθηκε το 1945 μόνο από διαλέκτους που ομιλούνται εντός των σημερινών ορίων του κράτους. Για την αλλαγή του Συντάγματος υπέρ της βουλγαρικής μειονότητας η κυβέρνηση Μίτσκοσκι δηλώνει πλήρη άρνηση. Το είπαν και προ ολίγων ημερών στον Πρόεδρο του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου Αντόνιο Κόστα. Προτιμούν να μην προχωρήσουν προς την Ευρ. Ένωση παρά να αποδεχθούν το βουλγαρικό και ευρωπαϊκό αίτημα.
Τα Σκόπια προκαλούν τους πάντες. Πρέπει να προστατεύσουμε την ιστορία και τη αξιοπρέπειά μας.

K. Cholevas: Skopje Is Tearing the Agreement Apart. How Will We Respond?

On June 12, seven years will have passed since the signing of the nationally damaging Prespa Agreement. The SYRIZA–ANEL government granted our northern neighboring state a compound name with a geographic qualifier—a qualifier that has already been discarded by those most directly concerned. It also conceded a “Macedonian” language, ethnicity, and identity to a multiethnic state that, since 1991, has shown its intent to monopolize those very terms.
The President of Skopje, Gordana Siljanovska, recently spoke at a conference under the general title Macedonia 2025, freely using the term—as does the vast majority of politicians and journalists in that country.
Moreover, the state’s Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski, frequently repeats his claims about an “unresolved Macedonian issue.” We heard him speak in January in the United States (at a gathering in New Jersey), and again on April 24 at an event organized by an association advocating claims over Northern Greece. As early as 1945, Yugoslav communist leader Tito had established the irredentist term “Aegean Macedonia” or “White Sea Macedonia” for Greek Macedonia. Associations bearing such names today spearhead anti-Hellenic and revisionist propaganda.
Mickoski stated, among other things:
“The Macedonian issue is not closed. The Macedonian issue will one day be put on the table of the great global powers, and I am convinced that, through the power of our arguments, we will restore everything that we have lost—not only in recent years but perhaps over past decades and centuries. I’m not certain whether it will be our generation, under my leadership, that will achieve this, but I am convinced we will lay the foundation so that future generations can accomplish it based on the groundwork we lay today.”
He made these remarks at an event in Skopje marking one year of activity for the “White Sea Club & Reading Room.”
It is obvious that such statements, along with the general behavior of the leadership in Skopje, are a blatant violation of the Prespa Agreement. They also vindicate all of us who warned that the so-called compound name was a farce, and that the term “Macedonia” would be the only one to survive. We must respond immediately. If we accept these provocations in silence, we open the door for even larger and more powerful neighboring states to pursue similar challenges.
The arrogance of our northern neighbors is also evident in their dealings with Bulgaria and the EU. Sofia has placed a veto on Skopje’s European path unless they issue a statement about their language and recognize the Bulgarian ethnicity as a foundational element of the state—requiring a constitutional amendment to its normative section.
On the language issue, Skopje’s government submitted a statement to Brussels on July 19, 2022, admitting that it was constructed in 1945 solely from dialects spoken within the current borders of the state. As for the constitutional amendment recognizing the Bulgarian minority, Mickoski’s government categorically refuses. They conveyed this position just days ago to the President of the European Council, António Costa. They would rather halt their EU accession process than accept the Bulgarian and European demands.
Skopje is provoking everyone. We must protect our history and our national dignity.
