Changing the holidays!

The blonde pictured above is Dounia Amina Bouzar, born in Grenoble, France in 1964, a Muslim raised and educated in the French secular schools, ministerial appointee to the Observatoire de la Laïcité, a government agency attached to the office of the prime minister, created by Jacques Chirac in 2007, that ensures that laïcité is respected in all public services. This agency, though initiated by Chirac, was not operative until the election of François Hollande, when Prime Minister Ayrault began making appointments for the first time.

No sooner appointed Bouzar aroused the indignation of Christians with her proposal to abolish two Christian holidays and to replace them with one Jewish and one Muslim holiday. The stated purpose is of course to promote laïcité, which originally referred to the separation of Church and State, but has taken on a different hue since Nicolas Sarkozy, and later François Hollande, used the concept to promote the acceptance of Islam in France (to the detriment of Christianity). Here is an article from Oumma, a Muslim website:

Anthropologist, specializing in religion, Dounia Bouzar was appointed on Sunday (September 22) to the Observatoire de la Laïcité by the prime minister. In an interview with Challenges magazine, she proposed to replace two Christian holidays with Yom Kippur and Aïd: "I think that France has been an example of laïcité to the world, being the first to institute the freedom of conscience to choose one's religion or not to believe in God. She must therefore continue to show the way. Today all Frenchmen celebrate Christmas and I think that one of our holidays should be Jewish and one Muslim. (…) A Jewish holiday and a Muslim holiday for all Frenchmen would help fight sectarianism("communautarisme") and advance the cause of laïcité. Today, Frenchmen of the Jewish or Muslim faiths are very ill at ease when they ask for time off to celebrate these two very important holidays. They can be turned down on grounds their services are needed."

The vice-president of the Front National, Louis Aliot, responds:

In an interview with Challenges magazine, Dounia Bouzar, anthropologist appointed by the prime minister to the Observatoire de la Laïcité, made some particularly troubling remarks, expressing her wish to replace two Christian holidays with Yom Kippur and Aïd, without even the approval of the two religions. This authoritarian move demonstrates the bias and ideological agenda of this useless committee subsidized by our taxes!

Her proposal, quite incredible, accepted in spirit by the former advisor to François Mitterrand Jean-Louis Bianco, president of the Observatoire, represents one more step towards the breaking-apart of our society on ethnic and religious issues! It contributes to the shattering of our national heritage and it splits the French among themselves by empowering religious communities ("en communautarisant") and preventing any assimilation into our national example.

To continue in this direction means to question the French national republican pact, historical heritage of the Monarchy, the Convention and the Empire and largely fashioned by Athens, Rome and Christianity.

Note: His comment is difficult to fathom. What exactly is the "national republican pact" that was fashioned by Athens, Rome and Christianity? His sweeping statement implies that the Republic is a continuation of three momentous influences, as if it had flowed smoothly from Athens straight through to 2013. But the French Republic itself represented a rupture with the past, a break with the Monarchy, a violence against Christianity. Nor is it Platonic, since Plato denounced the non-believers in Athenian pagan society. It may be closer to Rome in its last days, as Roman soldiers lost interest in defending the borders, and Roman citizens watched as a little boy named Romulus Augustulus, the last Roman Emperor they say, was deposed by Odoacer.

I wish he had spoken of the possible "taqqya" in Dounia Bouzar's proposal. Pretending to be a "laïciste", one devoted to laïcité, she is in fact not preventing the assimilation of Muslims, she is enabling it. So once again, a faux-moderate uses French laws and republican principles (such as parity and equality) against the French civilization, forcing a leveling process that will result in the usurpation of power by the most fanatical and violent elements.

One reader at Le Salon Beige warns:

- Dounia Bouzar is…. a so-called moderate Muslim! It doesn't seem to bother her to humiliate the Christians of this country without the slightest deliberation. There you have a small idea of what the future holds when the Muslims will be 30% of the population. Lower your heads or convert!
