Φυγόδικα αδέρφια που καταζητούνταν από το 2008 για την αρπαγή των παιδιών τους
συνελήφθησαν στις Κάτω Χώρες.
Τα θύματα εντοπίστηκαν μετά από κοινή επιχείρηση ελληνικών, ολλανδικών και αμερικανικών αρχών
Με την πολύτιμη συνεργασία της ελληνικής και της ολλανδικής κυβέρνησης, συνελήφθησαν τα καταζητούμενα αδέλφια J ohn and George Silah, στη Χάγη, Κάτω Χώρες, στις αρχές του μήνα. Τα δύο αδέλφια καταζητούνταν από το FBI από το 2008 για την απομάκρυνση των παιδιών τους από τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, χωρίς τη συγκατάθεση των μητέρων τους, όπως ανακοίνωσε ο Steven Martinez, Αστυνομικός του FBI, Λος Άντζελες.....
Οι John και George Silah καταζητούνταν για την καταγγελλόμενη αρπαγή των παιδιών τους, τον Ιούλιο του 2008, από τα σπίτια τους στο Λος Άντζελες, Καλιφόρνια. Εθνικό ένταλμα σύλληψής τους για αρπαγή ανηλίκων εκδόθηκε από την Κομητεία του Λος Άντζελες, στις 31 Ιουλίου του 2008. Ομοσπονδιακό ένταλμα σύλληψης για τους αδελφούς Silah εκδόθηκε στις 15 Οκτωβρίου 2008, από το Περιφερειακό Δικαστήριο των ΗΠΑ (Κεντρική Περιφέρεια Καλιφόρνια), αφού τους απαγγέλθηκαν κατηγορίες για διαφυγή τους προκειμένου να αποφύγουν τη δίωξη.
Ακολούθησαν έρευνες σε εθνικό και διεθνές επίπεδο, που είχαν ως αποτέλεσμα πράκτορες του FBI και αστυνομικοί του Αστυνομικού Τμήματος του Λος Άντζελες να στραφούν προς το εξωτερικό. Πριν από αρκετούς μήνες, η έρευνα οδήγησε στην Αθήνα (Ελλάδα).
Η Ελληνική Αστυνομία πραγματοποίησε διεξοδική έρευνα που οδήγησε στην Ολλανδία, όπου και υπήρξε συνεργασία με τις αρμόδιες ολλανδικές αρχές. Οι ερευνητικές προσπάθειες των αρχών της Ελλάδας και των Κάτω Χωρών είχαν ως αποτέλεσμα τον εντοπισμό των αδελφών Silah και των παιδιών - θυμάτων.
Καθώς ήταν γνωστό που βρίσκονταν τόσο οι αδελφοί Silah όσο και τα παιδιά, πράκτορες του Λος Άντζελες κατάφεραν την έκδοση προσωρινού εντάλματος σύλληψης, το οποίο και επέτρεψε στις αρμόδιες αρχές της Χάγης να προχωρήσουν στη σύλληψη των αδελφών Silah και στην ασφαλή επιστροφή των παιδιών την Τρίτη, 2 Νοεμβρίου.
Οι επιτυχείς συλλήψεις και η αποκατάσταση των παιδιών δεν θα ήταν εφικτή,

Τα παιδιά θύματα φιλοξενούνται από υπηρεσίες της Ολλανδίας για την προστασία της οικογένειας. Πράκτορες του FBI θα ταξιδέψουν με τις μητέρες των θυμάτων στις Κάτω Χώρες προκειμένου να γίνει η επανασύνδεση με τα παιδιά τους. Οι αδελφοί Silah κρατούνται από την ολλανδική αστυνομία, βάσει του προσωρινού εντάλματος σύλληψης που εκδόθηκε στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες.
Εκκρεμούν εθνικά και ομοσπονδιακά εντάλματα σύλληψης για τους αδελφούς Silah. Η κυβέρνηση των ΗΠΑ θα επιδιώξει δικαιοσύνη για τα θύματα, συνεργαζόμενη με τους διεθνείς εταίρους.

FUGITIVE BROTHERS WANTED SINCE 2008 FOR PARENTAL KIDNAPPING ARRESTED IN THE NETHERLANDS. VICTIMS RECOVERED AFTER JOINT OPERATION BY GREEK, DUTCH AND U.S. LAW ENFORCEMENT
With the invaluable cooperation of the Greek and Dutch governments, fugitive brothers John and George Silah were arrested in The Hague, Netherlands, earlier this week after being sought by the FBI since 2008 for removing their children from the United States without the consent of their custodial mothers, announced Steven Martinez, Assistant Director of the FBI in Los Angeles.
John Silah and George Silah were wanted for the alleged abduction of their children in July 2008 from their homes in Los Angeles, California. A state arrest warrant for parental abduction was issued by Los Angeles County, on July 31, 2008. A federal arrest warrant was issued for the Silah brothers on October 15, 2008, by the United States District Court, Central District of California, after they were charged with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.
After following domestic and international leads in this investigation, agents with the FBI and detectives with the LAPD directed their focus overseas. Several months ago, the investigation led to the area of Athens, Greece. Greek law enforcement conducted an exhaustive investigation which led them to the Netherlands, where they collaborated with Dutch law enforcement. The investigative efforts of law enforcement in Greece and the Netherlands resulted in the identification of the Silah brothers and the victim children.
Once the whereabouts of the brothers and the children were known, agents in Los Angeles obtained a provisional arrest warrant which enabled law enforcement in The Hague to carry out the arrest of the brothers and the safe recovery of the children on Tuesday, November 2nd.
The successful arrests and recovery of the children would not have been possible without the international cooperation of the following law enforcement agencies and organizations:

The victim children are being held by Dutch family protective services. FBI Agents will travel with the victims’ mothers to the Netherlands to reunite them with their children. The Silah brothers are being held in the custody of Dutch police based on the provisional arrest warrant issued in the United States.
There are pending state and federal charges for the Silah brothers. The United States government will seek justice for the victims, working cooperatively with our international partners.
